Daniel 9:1-19

II. Pray with Repentance for your sin and the sin of others

III. Pray with Recognition of who God is and what He has done

Study Questions

1. What is one of the things that you have prayed the hardest for?
2. What motivated Daniel to pray so intensely? (Vs 1-2) What was his attitude and tone? What are the keys to this kind of prayer? (Vs 3-4)
3. What does true repentance look like; how is it different from just saying you are sorry? (see Luke 3:8–14; Acts 3:19; 2 Corinthians 7:10)
4. Like Daniel prayed in repentance on behalf of his nation… Who are you in a position to pray for? (Be general without names or specifics) (Such as your children, nieces, and nephews, ancestors, employees, fellow citizens of your city/state/nation)
5. Why is it important to balance our prayers of repentance with declarations of who God is and what He has done?  
6. What about the way Daniel prayed shows you that he not only expected God to hear him; but also, to respond?
7. What is one thing that has challenged or encouraged you from this text? What is the next step?
