Sermon Series:

Today, pastoral elder Eric Byrom concludes our trip thorugh Romans. Eric asks us to "remember how God’s gospel of grace causes you to relate differently."

Due to a technical difficulty, today's sermon was split over two recordings.

Sermon Outline

  1. Remember how God’s gospel of grace causes you to relate differently to brothers and sisters in the Lord. (v. 1-16, 21-23)

  2. Remember how God’s gospel of grace causes you to relate differently to the lies of deceivers and of Satan. (v.17-20)

  3. Remember how God’s gospel of grace causes you to relate to your struggle for the obedience of faith. (v.24-27)

Questions

  1. How have you seen the passage from last week at work in your life this week?
  2. How does God’s gospel of grace change how you have related to brothers and sisters in Christ?  What are some obvious ways you have grown?
  3. If Paul were to describe you in this letter, what qualities would he highlight in terms of how you relate to the church and other Christians?  What are some qualities you would not want him to share?
  4. How has understanding the gospel of grace changed how you relate to the lies of others and the lies of the enemy?
  5. How has understanding the gospel of grace changed how you approach the obedience of faith?  Why do you think Paul refers to it as “the obedience of faith” and not the “the obedience of works”?
  6. What is one thing that we can be praying for you regarding what God is telling you to change or do in response to what you heard today?
