Sermon Series:
This is the second week of our Hebrews sermon series. Pastor Eric Byrom reminds us to keep the eye on the prize of Jesus's love for us.
Sermon Passage: Hebrews 1:5-14
Sermon Outline
- Keep your eye on the prize of trusting in Jesus above all else!
- Keep your eye on the prize of investing in what will last!
- Keep your eye on the prize of deliverance to be given!
Questions for Discussion
- What does this passage show us about Jesus that make him trustworthy above all else? What does it look like in your life to trust Jesus first?
- How does verse 10-12 show us how to trust in what will last versus what will not last? What are temporary things we are tempted to run after and trust in versus investing ourselves in what will last?
- What are things in this life that will last for eternity? How much of your time and resources are you investing in these things?
- Why is it important to view deliverance as a future prize rather than a present prize? What might happen if we expect full deliverance from all troubles to happen now? How might this view affect how you persevere in your faith in light of current troubles you face?
- What is one thing that God wants you to do, remember or change in your life in response to what you heard today?
