In our emphasis this year on discipleship which is "Study, Imitate and Share Jesus!", we are not talking about why we want to grow in diligence and what it means to grow in diligence.

Sermon Passage: Ephesians 6:5-8

Remember that God wants to hang your life’s work on His fridge!

  • By working respectfully! (v. 5a)
  • By working wholeheartedly! (5b-6)
  • By working willingly! (v. 7)
  • By working expectantly! (v.8)

Questions for Discussion

  1. List 10 elements below that make up your life of “work”.  Make the list as broad and creative as possible.  Ask yourself, “What does diligence look like in this area of work?”  What are ways to improve this area towards diligence? Now, read each of these areas and say, “This has value for God, and I will look to God as I do this work.”
  2. What does it look like for you to glorify Christ by working respectfully?  Give some practical examples from your life.
  3. What does it look like for you to glorify Christ by working wholeheartedly?  Give some practical examples from your life.
  4. What does it look like for you to glorify Christ by working willingly?  Give some practical examples from your life.
  5. What does it look like for you to glorify Christ by working expectantly?  Give some examples from your life.
  6. What is one thing that God wants you to remember, do or change in response to what you heard today?
