I. Consider what Jesus endured to set Barabbas free
II. What does Jesus what to set you free from?
III. Who are the Barabbas’ in your life?
Study/Discussion Questions
- What are some of the ways Jesus intentionally stayed on the course the Father had set for His life? (He could have avoided the Father’s plan)
- What encouragement does this give you as you face hardships in your life?
- Knowing that Barabbas is a snapshot of the Gospel what hope does that give you as you struggle with the sin in your life?
- Is there a particular area that is hard for you? Would you be willing to share it with your group?
- In what ways can we relate to the crowd of cries crucify Him!?
- In what ways can we relate to the soldiers who mocked Jesus saying “Hail King of the Jews?
- Are there lies that the enemy keeps telling you; that are holding you back from walking in freedom?
- Barabbas was an evil man… Is there someone in your life that you could not imagine sharing your faith? Could you consider just praying for them? (I am not encouraging anyone to put themselves in a dangerous situation - Just to be open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit)
