Avoid stumbling over God by not trying to play God!

  1.   God has the authority to make the hard choices. (v. 19-26)
  2.   God has the authority to carry out His justice. (v. 27-29)
  3.   God has the authority to save by faith through Jesus Christ (v. 30-33)

 

Questions

  1. When you look at v. 21 how does this statement hit you?  What about that is hard to accept?  What about it is easy to accept?  Why?
  2. How does vs. 28 hit you?  What about God saying, “Enough!” is hard for us to accept?  Why is this?
  3. Look at verses 30-31.  What is the irony here?  How does this scenario play out today in people’s lives?
  4. What is the stumbling stone in verse 33?  Why is Jesus a stumbling stone for those trying to attain righteousness through the law?
  5. What is one thing that God is moving you to do as a result of what you have heard today?
