Sermon Call: When we renew our minds, our lives will be changed!

Sermon Passsages: Romans 12:2; John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 10:5; Hebrews 4:12; Hebrews 2:4

• We need to know who our enemy is and how he operates.
• You have a choice in your thoughts.
• The power of agreement: What we choose to agree with has power over us.
• Hear the truth from the Lord Himself.
• Speak the truth out loud.
• Renewing the mind is an active process.

Questions for Discussion

1.  What concepts from the sermon stood out to you? Were there any ideas that were new to you?
2.  How you ever felt like a victim of your own thoughts? What do you think it looks like to take ownership of your thought life? What does that mean?
3.  Think of an agreement someone might make. Who will share an example? In that situation, can you think of things a person might turn to as a source of comfort or defense?
4.  Read Psalm 119:105 and John 8:31-32. What is the result of knowing God's truth according to these scriptures?
5.  Why do you think it is so important to renew our minds on a regular/daily basis?
6.  Can anyone identify an agreement you've made that is a lie and currently holds some power over you? If so, are you willing to share?
